Barcode Locator is an asset management and tracking system that has very many applications within the hospital and healthcare environment. Below are many of the applications that we have addressed. Tracking Laundry The Barcode Locator keeps track of the issue of bed linen, gowns and other items of laundry, monitoring their progress to and from the laundry store to the wards and to and from the laundry. Look at Barcode Locator to see how it works. Asset tracking Hospitals and care homes have a number of valuable assets. These include items such as laptops PCs printers and other non-medical equipment held on the ward. Reports can be run on the location of any given item and the history of its movement in the case of loss. There's also a depreciation module showing when the item was bought and its estimated current value. Look at Barcode Locator to see how it works. Issue of equipment to patients Barcode Locator can track the movement of items such as oxygen cylinders, breathing apparatus, crutches, zimmers etc. Look at Barcode Locator to see how it works. Outpatients The system tracks the issue of temporary loans to patients of items like crutches and Zimmer frames. Look at Barcode Locator to see how it works. Patient sample labels Using a hand held terminal such as the Opticon H15 and a portable Bluetooth printer such as the Zebra QL220, labels can be applied to samples taken from patients. The system can then also track with barcodes the destination and receipt of the samples, and then further be used to record the test results. Look at Barcode Locator to see how it works. Sample tests and results When the sample is received in a laboratory its barcode is scanned logging the receipt of the sample. Tests are then carried out on the sample and recorded on the Barcode Locator system. Use of a tethered scanner in the laboratory, such as the Opticon 3201, greatly speeds up the recording of these tests and Pass system will log the result of each test using drop down look at tables combined with manual entry. When the samples need to be stored the pass system will also log where they are kept in the date and time they were put away.
Internal Mail Tracking Couriers and van drivers uses hand held terminals such as the Opticon H15 and Locator Mail to track collection and delivery of internal mail around the internal hospital sites such as wards and clinics and external linked sites such as health clinics and doctors surgeries.
